Goldmine Grading Guide:

  • Mint (M): Absolutely perfect in every way. The record is usually sealed, never played, and has no flaws.

  • Near Mint (NM): Nearly perfect. The record shows no obvious signs of wear, is glossy, and plays without surface noise. The cover has no creases, seam splits, or ring wear.

  • Very Good Plus (VG+): The standard for most collectors. It shows slight signs of use, such as minor scuffs or light scratches that do not affect play. The cover may have very minor wear or a small "cut-out".

  • Very Good (VG): Obvious signs of wear. Surface noise is present during quiet passages but doesn't overpower the music. The cover may have light ring wear, writing, or minor seam splits.

  • Good (G) / Good Plus (G+): "Good" is actually quite worn. It will play through without skipping but has significant surface noise and visible groove wear. Covers show heavy ring wear and obvious seam splits.

  • Fair (F) / Poor (P): Heavily damaged. The record may be warped, cracked, or skip during playback. Covers are torn, stained, or incomplete. These are usually only valuable if they are extremely rare.
